The Limit Institute for Mathematics, Innovation, and Technology (LIMIT) is a loose affiliation of mathematicians at all levels of training and employment. We are interested in how technology is changing how we carry out math research, teach math, and even understand what mathematics is.
The Limit Institute is a virtual institute with occasional physical meetings.
Three Core Principles
Limit has three core principles:
- Mathematicians are creators of intellectual property and must advocate for the rights of creators.
- Mathematicians are responsible for thinking critically about how technology will change their impact on the world.
- Mathematicians must speak up for best practices in mathematics education and research, including public investment in and stewardship of our society's intellectual resources.
``Hey senorita, that's astute. Why don't we get together and call ourselves an institute?'' You, too, can join us! Contribute content to the blog, tweet about relevant stories and topics, participate in discussion with members, or come to a physical meeting.
